Pelican Hill Wedding // Lindsay & Scott

From the bride:

“My Mom was born for this type of thing. Before we were officially engaged, she had already arranged to visit four prospective venues, checked Jeannie’s (from Details Details) availability, and had a primary list of invitees drafted. Scott, being the smart guy he is, let me know he liked whatever I did, and would help whenever he was needed. We knew we wanted something beautiful and awe-inspiring, while still being the most fun, and party-filled wedding possible. From there, me, my sisters, and mom, set out on a mission. First, we visited a few venues, and knew Pelican Hill was perfect right when we stepped on site. From there came Jeannie. She planned my older sister’s wedding and did a spectacular job. Jeannie had a great idea of what we were looking for and suggested a few vendors who were a perfect fit. Victor Sizemore, our photographer, was a no-brainer, as he is from and living in Kentucky, and had that mid-west connection with Scott (who is born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska). When deciding our floral vendors, Sunny from White Lilac, won me over with ideas for a hanging instillation, combining gold, textures and florals, and their shared love for the same Balmain dress. She got it. From there, Linda Goldsheft, our cake expert, Elysium for video, Berit from Makeup by Berit, famed hairstylist Lois Kinsey, the live quartet Angelica Strings and Dj Stylez each fit the exact mold we were looking for: the best at what they do, and the most fun to be around!”

Cape Kidnappers Wedding // Alain & Victoria’s New Zealand Wedding

You all know that we specialize in destination weddings.  This year it feels like we’ve been abroad more than in the States.  The thing is… I guess we attract couples that are like us.  We love to travel, see the world, experience different cultures, and so do so many of our clients (even if they are getting married locally!)

Alain and Victoria are no exception.  These two have literally lived and traveled all over the world.  They decided to hold their incredible wedding at a gorgeous property on the north island of New Zealand called Cape Kidnappers.  Of course the scenery was stunning but my favorite thing about this wedding?  They had friends and family who traveled from all corners of the globe to attend their wedding.  How amazing is that??  Seriously… from probably every continent.

Our whirlwind trip would not have been complete without being able to hang and work with Carlos from Cava Weddings.  We first worked with him in Anguilla a few years back and were so excited to work with him and his team in NZ.  Seriously incredible photographer and the trip came with a ton of laughs and fun.  It’s always great working with friends who share your same level of professionalism and similar style!!

So without further delay, check out their highlights!

Pelican Hill Wedding // Elise & Chris

Elise & Chris met in college at USC… at a slip n’ slide sorority BBQ to be exact!! Soon they fell in love and became quite a duo.  Chris’s proposal was pretty awesome… he planned a surprise helicopter ride during a trip to Hawaii.  When the helicopter descended into Waipio Valley (a gorgeous green landscape of mountains and waterfalls) Chris took off his seat belt and got down on one knee.  Super romantic, right??  From there, the wedding planning was on!!  They chose a colorful, fun, yet romantic garden themed wedding at Pelican Hill.  They added their own unique elements that included a wedding dress display… both mother’s wedding gowns as well as two of their grandmothers!  So cool!  Check out their highlights:

Downtown Los Angeles Wedding // Jana & Andy

Wow… I totally thought I blogged this SDE!  This one is super fun so you have to check it out.  Here is a bit about “Jandy” (Jana & Andy):

“The first time we met was at Sunday church. We both arrived late for the sermon and ended up sitting next to each other in the back row. We didn’t even notice each other at first. But then we reached for the same bible at the same time and our hands accidentally touched. Startled, we looked at each other and…it was love at first sight.
We admit it….we met at Velvet Room — only the most popular club in Koreatown. There. The real story is out and everyone knows the truth. But our marriage goes to show that ‘booking’ at Korean clubs actually works!

I had been dreaming of this day even before I met Andy. Therefore, when Andy proposed to me (and after I had said yes), I was headed straight to the newstand for the latest copies of bridal magazines. After flipping through page after page of bridal magazines, we came up with the perfect look & feel for our wedding — one that would be classic & elegant, one that would never go “out-of-style”. We incorporated fun elements — popcorn/dessert station, colorful bowties & socks — to avoid having a wedding that would feel too stuffy & serious” - Jana & Andy

Haiku Mill Wedding // Anise & Dane

Of course Hawaii weddings are always super pretty (I mean how can they not be… let’s be real) but this one is super glam!  Anise & Dane decked out Haiku Mill to create a super elegant event.  Check out the chic chandeliers and beachwood, mixed with Jenga and even a tea party for the little girls!  There were so many details at this wedding that it was an eye candy fest for sure!

On top of that, Anise & Dane are a totally fun couple and they spent their day celebrating with their friends and family’s company…  just the way it should be.  Enjoy their highlights!
